Ahmed El Beheiry is a seasoned entrepreneur, technology executive, design engineer, and AI expert. He first joined Cassava Technologies Group in May 2022 as Senior Advisor for AI to the Group President & CEO.
Previously, Ahmed served as the Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt from 2017 to 2019. His career began as a design engineer for mobile networks at Alcatel from 1995 to 1998. He then joined MobiNil (now Orange Egypt) as the Network Development Manager in 1998 and became Networks and Roaming Director in 2002, serving until 2007.
In 2007, Ahmed founded Telecomax Group for Investment and Development, a group of companies providing telecommunication and IT services in Africa and the Middle East, where he served as Chairman and CEO until 2016. In 2013, he co-founded IDEA for Hope, focusing on sustainable technologies for African communities. In 2019, he founded WAKANDAI Ventures, a firm investing in AI startups in Africa and the Middle East.
Ahmed holds an M.Sc. in Mobile Communication from the University of Alexandria and an MBA from the University of Rennes. In 2020, he completed Harvard Business School’s General Management Program and additional HBS programs on Data and AI.
He served on the Board of Governors of the Pacific Telecommunications Council (2018-2021), and as a board member of Telecom Egypt (2016-2019) and Vodafone Egypt (2017-2019.
