Liquid Intelligent Technologies marks fifth year of a decade-long, million-dollar commitment to preserving the memory of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda

Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a business of Cassava Technologies, a global technology leader, has contributed RWF 130,797,092 to Rwanda’s Imbuto Foundation, marking the fifth year of Liquid’s decade-long, US$1 million commitment to preserving the memory of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

The contribution forms part of Liquid’s ten-year pledge, established in 2022 in collaboration with the Imbuto Foundation and Rwanda’s Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE). The initiative supports education, digitisation and preservation of national-level genocide memorials, helping to ensure that evidence, artefacts and historical records are protected for future generations and that Rwandans and visitors can continue to engage with this history in its original form.

“Preserving the memory of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi is a responsibility that extends across generations. Liquid is proud to support the Government of Rwanda in its efforts to protect the memory of our country’s past in a dignified and empathetic way, ensuring that history remains accessible and undiluted for those who come after us. As a responsible corporate citizen, our commitment goes beyond building digital infrastructure. It is also about using our capabilities to support the societies in which we operate and to contribute meaningfully to Rwanda’s future,” said Mr Sam Nkusi, Executive Chairman of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Rwanda.

The initiative aligns closely with Liquid’s commitment to use technology to strengthen communities, expand knowledge, and access to information. In Rwanda, this means contributing both to safeguarding the country’s history and to a digitally connected future in which technology supports education, opportunity and social progress.

Five years into the pledge, Liquid remains committed to working with the Imbuto Foundation and the Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement to support preserve Rwanda’s national memory and ensure that the lessons of the past remain accessible to generations to come.
