Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a business of Cassava Technologies, a leading pan-African technology group, has announced the opening of a fully equipped, state-of-the-art computer centre, kitted with high-speed connectivity and a full-time assistant, at Sempapa Secondary School in the Makapanstad region of the North-West Province. With the additional sponsorship of 50 computers, learners from four schools in the community will now have access to basic digital and computer literacy skills and courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch of the computer centre is the latest investment by Liquid in the North-West Province, building on its very successful STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Digital Literacy programme aimed at enhancing these essential skills amongst the province\u2019s Grade 11 and 12 learners, and its innovative Youth Tech Entrepreneurship Programme, which provides South Africa\u2019s youth with advanced digital, technical, and entrepreneurial skills and capabilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over 300 students from schools in the Makapanstad region of the North-West Province have already benefited from the STEM programme, with the latest intake including learners from host school Sempapa Secondary School, Kgaphamadi Secondary School, Matlaisane High School, and Sekitla Secondary School. The programme has already seen fantastic results, with the mathematics pass rate jumping from 11% to 84% after its first year, including 14 distinctions, and similar results achieved in the other subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
